Man-o-man, it’s definitely been a week but now it’s Friday!
I haven’t had nearly enough time to write like I wanted to this week but that’s okay. Real life takes precedence as I’m sure many of you out there in the wilds of the multiverse understand. Whether it’s dealing with a complete moron of a landlord or the day job, we’ve all been there. I do have a few announcements, though, so let’s dive right in and get it done.
Writer’s Corner Hosting is now live!
If you look up in the top right corner you should see a new page that will take you a site where you can buy Managed WordPress hosting, domain names, easy to use WYSIWYG website builders, and a slew of other things to help get your name out there in the world and build your brand.
I know a lot of you out there are on WordPress.com or Tumblr or any number of free blog-like platforms out there. I understand the price is right but if you really want to take it to the next level self-hosting is the way to go.
I will be updating my personal services page soon for extended support and setup to several of the products as I am a trained IT tech with a lot of experience. Standard tech support has been outsourced to a 24/7 firm who are truly amazing. For day-to-day issues you may face, you can’t beat them. If you do have issues with them, I’m more than happy to address the situation and explain things if you contact me via email.
I’m working on a new short story for the site.
This one is near and dear to my heart because the main character is one I absolutely love. He’s been knocking around in my head for a while now so I’m really excited to introduce him to the world. The world he lives in is full of magick (literally) and he’s the one and only law keeper around. If you like urban fantasy then I think you’re going to enjoy it.
I still want new submissions for Tuesday Night Fiction!
I want to showcase your work. While I can’t pay you anything I can get your name out there and you will be an officially published writer. That’s good for a lot of different reasons. You’re more likely to get published elsewhere if you’ve already been published. Your confidence goes up because you finally see your stuff in print for the world to consume. Last but not least, I don’t keep any publishing rights beyond the first posting. The story is yours to do with it as you will. Be sure to check out the Submit page for further info.
I’m also looking to interview and showcase unknown writers.
I’m looking to develop a regular post series where I feature unknown writers. I want to help you tell the world about your awesomeness and the things you’re working on! People want to know about your stuff. They just don’t know it yet. Let’s make it happen, yo!
I’ll be publishing a blogroll here in a few weeks.
I already have a few blogs that I know I’m going to feature on there and I’d love to put you up there as well. My goal isn’t just to showcase your link but to build a vast repository of writer sites that will serve future up and coming writers.
I also want to build a community. Far too often writers are solitary creatures who rarely socialize. I’m hoping to build a community that will support one another in our crazy adventure in writing. So, if you want to be on the blogroll, let me know.
That’s all this week. Enjoy Friday and the rest of the weekend. Fly safe out there. o7
